German Pancakes

I swear every person that makes these calls them something different! Dutch babies, german pancakes, hootenannies, dutch puffs, etc. Whatever you call them, they are yummy! This recipe is from go-to recipes on instagram. I really like their account. It is just essentially what we are doing here- family members writing their recipes down so we can share them easier.

6 Tablespoons Butter
6 Eggs
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 Tablespoon sugar
1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt

Place the butter in a cast iron skillet or ceramic 9x13 pan and place in a cold oven. Heat oven to 400 degrees until the butter begins ti bubble and pan is very hot. Blend remaining ingredients well in a blender. Pour batter into hot pan and bake 30-45 minutes depending on pan used. It should be golden brown on top and bottom and puffed above the rim of the pan. Serve immediately by cutting into squares. Serve with whatever toppings you prefer. I love spreading it with sour cream, a squeeze of fresh lemon juice, and a light sprinkle of powdered sugar. Don't knock it til you try it!
