Soft Sugar Cookies

1 cup shortening

2 cups sugar

2 eggs

1 tsp vanilla

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 pint sour cream (about 1 cup)

5 cups flour (sometimes i use more- not sure why only sometimes!)

Mix together shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Add the sour cream. Mix the soda, salt and flour in a separate bowl and once mixed nicely add to shortening mixture and mix together by hand. Roll out to about 1/2" thick, cut and bake at 350 for 10 minutes.
