Baked Scones


From Our Best Bites

1 3/4 c flour
3 Tbsp sugar
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
4-6 Tbsp milk
1 egg- beaten
1/3 c butter

Mix the first 4 ingredients. Cut in butter. Combine egg and 4 Tbsp milk. Pour milk mixture into the dry mixture and mix well with a fork. Add 2 more Tbsp if needed. Pat into a circle on a floured surface. Brush with milk and liberally sprinkle with sugar. Cut into 6 wedges and seperate on a cookie sheet. Bake at 400 for 12ish minutes. DO NOT OVERBAKE! Tops shouldn't be browned- just the bottoms. 

I make breakfast for dinner a lot and i was sick of the same old stuff so i branched out and made these. They are yummy. I served them with homemade whipped cream and strawberries. Delish!
