Moms Beef Stew




Moms Beef Stew



2 lbs beef stew meat, cut into 1 inch squares
2 Tablespoons cooking oil
1 cup water
3 large potatoes, peeled & cut into 1 inch cubes
4 medium carrots, sliced
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 medium onion, chopped
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 Tablespoons instant beef bouillion granules

In a dutch oven brown meat in oil
Add water, garlic, onions, salt and pepper
Cover and simmer for 2 hours
Stir in bouillion and 2 cups water
Add potatoes and carrots
Simmer for 1 1/2 - 2 more hours

I think the bouillion granules are really important
I will always add more water if I think it needs it
Add other veggies as well.  This is just the original recipe

I have made this many times and it still never turns out as good as moms! I have no clue why, but one day i will perfect it!
